TeleNexus extends telephone service as far as 20 miles or more from the termination of an existing wireline. Now telephone service is accessible where it has been too expensive, or not feasible to run telephone lines.
The flexibility and ruggedness of TeleNexus allows permanent or temporary service at a fixed or mobile location, making it ideally suited for remote sites; construction trailers, remote villages, off shore oil rigs, and other areas where telephone service has not previously been available.
The TeleNexus radio link system operates on professional UHF channels providing high quality, standard telephone service. The utilization of 50-foot towers allows TeleNexus an effective range of 20 miles over level terrain. Using higher towers or radio sites can increase the range.
Unlike most rural radiotelephone systems, the low acquisition cost of the TeleNexus makes return on the original investment extremely short.
TeleNexus provides effective continuation of the existing telephone circuit to conventional telephone equipment at a remote site. It is compatible with standard single line Touch-Tone, Pulse or Rotary dial sets.
To install, simply plug a telephone line into the RTLT-1 (Telephone Line Terminator) at the termination of the existing wirelines. Then install the RTSU-1 (Subscriber Unit) and a telephone at the remote site. Each end of the TeleNexus system uses standard RJ11 telephone jacks, making installation "plug and use" simple.
The full duplex radio transceiver and interface is housed in a single sturdy enclosure for easy mounting and forms a completely self-contained system, except for the required antenna system.
