Ritron, Inc. said Wednesday, June 23rd, 2013 it has delivered an order of 115 of its American designed and built, RCCR-151-NX-VR NXDN digital locomotive radios to VIA Rail Canada, Inc. in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The procurement was awarded to Ritron’s reseller, Metrocom Canada, located in St-Laurent, QC.

Carmel, Indiana based Ritron, Inc. noted that VIA Rail Canada is a passenger service providing rail transportation across the country, from coast-to-coast and north to Hudson Bay. VIA Rail carried nearly 4 million passengers in 2012.

The purchase included Ritron’s one-piece, narrow band and NXDN digital capable radios. The FCC established a January 2013 deadline for radio users to switch from wideband analog
